The stratigraphic distribution of Cesium (Cs) shows a variable content with somewhat higher values in coals of the upper Kanawha Formation through Conemaugh Group with high values in the Pocahontas No.8, Brush Creek and Dunkard Group coals.  This distribution of Cs is probably related to the distribution of mineral matter in coal, especially clay minerals.
