Tellurium in West Virginia coals averaged 0.08 ppm (± 0.04 ppm) with an near normal, but erratic, histogram showing a tail toward higher values with a maximum value of 0.246 ppm in a bench of the Peerless coal.  Tellurium correlated poorly with ash yield and moderately with several elements including silver (Ag) and bismuth (Bi) and several ash related elements including lead (Pb), uranium (U), vanadium (V), scandium (Sc), chromium (Cr), thorium (Th), copper (Cu), lithium (Li) and rubidium (Rb).
