Geoscience Education in the Mountain State:
RockCamp IV
RockCamp IV
Only RockCamp I and II graduates were eligible for RockCamp IV. RockCamp IV allowed 19 teachers to compare
and contrast the geology of West Virginia with that of New England. For example, why do we quarry limestone
and they quarry marble? What is the common thread? This eight-day trip explored tectonics, metamorphic and
igneous rocks, and glacial features. We also went to the top of a misty and cold Mount Washington on the
Cog Railway.
