Geoscience Education in the Mountain State:
RockCamp I Factoids
RockCamp I Factoids
- In 2002, we marked RockCamp's second decade of offering professional development to West
Virginia teachers.
- As of the summer of 2002, we have provided RockCamp I level experiences to more than 220 K-12
educators.
- Our primary team consists of two Ph.D. geologists and two Ed.D. geology science educators.
- In 1992, only one of 20 participating science educators had heard of WVGES.
- In 2003, 18 of 20 participating science teachers had heard of WVGES.
- We have worked with teachers from 52 West Virginia counties (map?). If you live in Hardy, Monroe, or
Summers County, we want to hear from you!
