Trace Elements in West Virginia Coals
As
indicated in the stratigraphic distribution of Mo, low Mo coals of
the Lower and Middle Pennsylvanian are distributed throughout southern
West Virginia. Moderate Mo values (10-25 ppm) are in Upper Pennsylvanian
coals of north central WV, and highest Mo coal samples (>25 ppm) are in
the Brush Creek, Bakerstown and Harlem coals of the eastern panhandle and
the Pittsburgh and Sewickley coals in deep cores in Wetzel County (see
cautionary note page).
